SSEN Works and road closures in the local area

SSEN Update Schedule of Work

The schedule of works is as follows:

Oakhanger Road: 28th September to 6th October

The team will proceed with duct installation works at Oakhanger Road North, at junction with Green Street. Residents in Oakhanger village will still be able to drive in and out, using the southern section of the road to join the A325 Louisburg Avenue for onward travel to Bordon and beyond.

Caker Lane: 28 September through to 2 November. We will be conducting Horizontal Directional Drilling works under Temporary Traffic Lights. The team will remain in one place for works on Caker Lane, the team will be working on the stretch of Caker Lane that runs adjacent to Worldham Golf Club

Farnham Road: 14th October to 1st November.

At this stage, we do not currently know from which end of the road the works will proceed from on Farnham Road due to other works currently taking place in the vicinity. Their progress will determine from which end of the road we will start the trenching works from and the direction of travel for the team. Should you have any concerns about this, please do get in touch. The team will maintain access to businesses at all times.

Bus Services

We are in discussions with StageCoach and Hampshire County Council to identify a suitable location for a temporary bus stop for the N13 bus.

Access During Road Closures

When a road is closed to through traffic, it means it is closed to people who want to use it as a route to another destination. You can watch our explainer video here. The people who live or work on that road can still drive in and out. Residents, delivery drivers, blue light services and the council’s waste collection service can all still use the road in both directions, via the diversion route, up to the section of road where the team is working.
